The Best of the Rest (4/6)

A few of the ecchi shows that premiered this week didn’t have quite enough to make a full preview out of, but I’ve got ‘em covered here. Also, I haven’t forgotten about the April BD/DVD releases, I’m just really, really lazy. Amagami SS+ vol. 1 came out on Wednesday, but I don’t think it had anything worth noting otherwise.

Well its a good thing that you partially covered is this a zombie? Of the dead. I already saw the first episode of Kore wa zombie desu ka? Of the dead and its freaking hilarious! That’s why I love it a good mixture of comedy and fanservice! Kore wa zombie desu ka? Of the dead FTW!

Well Upotte!! episode 1 and Nazo no Kanojo X episode 1 is out. Figure I’d give you guys a brief ecchi analysis:

Upotte!! – Saw a raw stream. Had some pretty decent ecchi moments. There wasn’t any nude scenes and it doesn’t look like there will be any nude scenes uncensored for dvd. There was a brief bath scene but her arms were covering her boobs. Doesn’t really look like it will be uncensored for the dvd. The only censored scene was an up close panty shot. Overall, I’m a little disappointed. I thought it would be as ecchi as Kanokon/Ladies vs Butlers due to a lot of the same staff working on it. But still, they could do nude scenes in the future, like a hot springs episode or something. I’ll still keep an eye on it.

Nazo no Kanojo X – Only saw a bunch of screencaps. The art style is kinda interesting. Looks like an old school 90s anime. But anyway, from what I can tell from the screencaps, there weren’t any nude scenes. There’s that weird drool fetish, a few brief panty shots, but no nudity. Doesn’t really look like it will be like Hoods’ other animes (Qwaser, Manyuu, Aki Sora OVAs) so I won’t expect gratuitous nude scenes in this one. I guess Hoods wants to clean up its name a bit so they aren’t only associated with borderline hentai anime. AT-X will air each episode a few days after the original broadcast, so if there is anything censored, it may be uncensored for the AT-X broadcast.

I see… Damn I was really looking forward to upotte! Since it was the same team that brought kanokon and ladies vs butlers… Hopefully they have some kind of special or something when the bd/DVD comes out…

This anime got my attention, people.

So what do ya think? A bunch of fools from ANN critic this being a sexist novel, the worse case of all. In contrary, many folks from MAL suppose this show and call them moron for not be able to differ between real and illusion.

Me? How a show with a boy need to take care of a super clumsy girl is a sexist is beyond me and my imagination. I only can say that some of folks out there been affected by Hollywood too much.

@ Naota: seem to me that u avoid me anytime I say something. Have I done sth u dont like? cuz I dont remember doing anything.

Do you mean when you say stuff like “What’s up old man?” Sorry, but I’m not going to respond to every comment like that. It’s not that I’m mad if I don’t respond to a comment directed at me.

And as for the story described in that link, if the show refers to it as “master and pet” then I can see why it’s being called sexist. If they don’t actually talk about her being a pet, then it’s harder to see.

(^-^) really? Sorry bout that. I thought its kind of funny, but i guess i was a bit overjoking here.
About that anime, the answer is NO.
She’s so clumsy, have no sense of direction, despite being a genius. He had to take care of her, so they make fun by dubbing them “master-pet relationship”
That’s all. And that’s all it take for folks from ANN call it sexist. Beyond me
As for me, i’m looking forward it, sexist or not. Wanna read sth sexist? Er, i suppose folks from Hollywood have bunch of that.

I think you misunderstood me, it’s not that I dislike what you said, it’s just that even if I read every comment (and I don’t always have time to every day) I won’t always say hi to someone saying hi to me because I might be busy at the time.

Also, I didn’t realize that “pet” is in the title of the novels. I had missed that. I have to disagree with you, dark.

Helping a clumsy girl? Not sexist.
Keeping a girl as a pet? Sexist.

Don’t worry, I’m not judging you. If I had a huge problem with sexist anime I wouldn’t be running an ecchi site >_>

No my friend (^-^) They make fun of them because he has to take care of her “like a pet”, since she’s so clumpsy. Nothing here mention about him ACTUALLY keep her as a pet >only in hentai, yaoi, and suprisingly, a lot of shoujo< here. Read that, and u will find out. Like i said, i believe those folks overreact here

What I said was I can see where the claims of sexism are coming from if the novels refer to her as a pet. And they do. It’s always possible to go beyond that and diverge from the superficial plot summary description, but at the same time it’s reasonable to say “what the heck is up with that title?”
