Aisle H

a blog for everything ecchi

About

I’m a fan of all things ecchi.

The name “Aisle H” refers to the fact that I envision this blog as an ecchi fan’s “one stop shop” to find news or previews for the latest ecchi anime and manga. The site still has a ways to go before it actually achieves that goal, but I’m always working to improve my coverage.

Sometimes I’ll post news about non-ecchi anime, but this is not a review blog about “serious business” anime. I know ecchi fans want picture previews, and I try not to bog down the blog with other stuff.

I also post weekly sales figures, because it’s a good way to keep track of the popularity of ecchi shows in Japan; if you’re a fan of a series, pop in and see how well it’s selling.

Hope you enjoy the blog.

I hear I think they have fallen behind on the episodes: Episode 3 r-15, Ro-Kyu-Bu 2 and 4

Sometimes “they” fall behind on the weekend, because hey… this isn’t the only thing they do.

While it isn’t the “Great Archives of Fanservice” that is animefanservice, this is BY FAR the best anime blog I have ever visited and this ecchi fan’s one stop shop. So thanks for the blog and keep it coming!

Not sure if you saw my other post yet but maybe with your blog you can use your influence to unite all ecchi fans. :D lol

Maybe once in a while include the contact info for these North American anime companies in your posts for unlicensed series or for a new upcoming new series (they might do a simulcast and if it gets high numbers will also license it for home video e.g. Freezing by Funimation).

If enough fans ask for a series (even ecchi) they might consider licensing it.

    info@sentai-filmworks.com
    info@media-blasters.com

Ecchi fans may not be the most vocal group but they are the most dedicated (and secretly probably the largest). They just need to be united. :) lol

Ha, “uniting all ecchi fans” wasn’t really one of my goals when I started, but I’ll consider it.

I think one hurdle is the fact that ecchi fans aren’t really the most… affluent demographic out there. But yeah, with enough enthusiasm, these main ecchi shows should get some attention.

So you ever plan to posting sales figures for all the shows & OVAs you cover? :)

    (like your logo says :p)

Someone at MyAnimeList posted this chart for Japan sales numbers and what it means, but I’m not sure if it’s total sales or sales per volume/set.

Do you know which? (I hope it’s the former)

    less than a 1000 – epic fail
    1000-3000 – fail
3000-4000 means the producers get their money back at least (they suffer no losses but they receive no profit either).
    4000-7000 – slight profit
    7000-10000 – moderate success
    10000-15000 – success
    15000+ – huge success

    • Naota November 16, 2011 at 8:10 pm

      Per volume.

That’s a little bit of a harsher range than I’m used to. Generally speaking, anything over 3000 per volume probably didn’t lose money. And shows that get at least 5000 per volume (and still have more material to cover) are good candidates for sequels.

I have posted sales figures, but I kinda got behind on it after a while and stopped. But yeah, it’s something I should bring back.

    Hey naoto,
wouldnt it be nice if this website had one of those instant chat forums so people who had ecchi questions could ask them and get instant feedback from other ecchi lovers? Cus i know its hard for you to answer every question at every waking moment , you are a person after all

Hey I’ve been coming to you blog for a few months and I think your BotR posts clearly make this one of the best ecchi blogs ive seen. Where do you get those pics and such for the posts? And where do you find the information?

    • Jolanie January 9, 2013 at 6:00 pm

Apparently, Naota has made the decision to not share the websites that he gets all of his GIFs and such from.
